Through all of their individual talents, they've made some big up and coming moves in the stateside beat scene and play throughout their area representing their craft. We're very excited to have them in Portland, a showcase surely not to be forgotten as we get a very direct taste of their take on the west coast sound. They're joined by Future Beat residents Ryan Organ, Carrier & Brazil.

The Lee Boys

The Lee Boys are one of America's finest African-American sacred steel ensembles. This family group consists of three brothers, Alvin Lee (guitar), Derrick Lee and Keith Lee (vocals) along with their three nephews, Roosevelt Collier (pedal steel guitar), Alvin Cordy Jr. (7-string bass) and Earl Walker (drums). Each member began making music at the ages of 7 and 8 in the House of God church they attended in Perrine, FL. Here they underwent a rigorous course of training in a variety of musical instruments, including lap and pedal steel guitars. Born and raised in Miami, each of The Lee Boys grew up in the church where their father and grandfather, Rev. Robert E. Lee, was the pastor and a steel player himself.

Fareed Haque's Math Games

The Math Games Trio is an electronica jazz/funk groove band fronted by Fareed Haque (Garaj Mahal). Fareed's latest project brings a hip new sound to the road. Moog guitar enthusiasts will not want to miss this band, as the new and innovative instrument is Fareed's ax of choice for shows. Flat Earth Ensemble members Alex Austin and Greg Fundis bring their talent and flair to the mix to create an excellent evening of music.
